Most businesses vying for your dollar are showing you a life optimised. An entire life dialled in - sleep schedules, tracking movements, calories, micro movements. Read vicariously and work out religiously, balance the work load, the family life and do it while wearing a smile.
The ever present pressure to keep all the plates spinning.
But we do things like film in muddy paddocks.
Because life is more than a polished showroom. Here we’ll encourage a mid week glass of wine while you stir dinner and white noise the 7pm household chaos that shifts between whispered chatter to screams of glee as the kids tear up and down the hallway. There are no immaculate systems in this place, just a whole lot of chaos but in the best possible way. Loud and messy and squeezed to capacity. A life that is loud. And covered in red dirt and cat hair.
We seek out people around us who are the same. Those that are magnetic to me are people with some dimension. I appreciate the commitment that comes with a solid routine but, while I love you dearly, I don’t want to know how many grams of protein you consumed today. I want to surround myself with those committing to a life lived in bold colour. Texture and depth. Those that have accumulated stories. Stories that come from giving something a crack. Roadtriping to the other side of Australia with nothing but a swag and an esky. Building something with your bare hands. Raising kids in any form. I want to hear about the risks you took, how you laid it all on the line but had blind faith in your own abilities.
Interesting is the characteristic that beats discipline.
Jewellery invested in isn’t done so because of what you might re-sell it for in the future.
