Seeking out our heirlooms in 2026
There was once a time when almost everything we strived for, was meant to outlive us.
Silver stored away, awaiting the flurry of the holidays to be brought out, polished and shown off to the extended family. Furniture built to last generations. Recipe books stained with butter blotches in the corners and sprinkles of flour hidden in the crevices of the spine, evidence lingering of the cakes and cookies temporarily brought to life.
Objects weren’t temporary. Not existing simply to provide a dopamine hit.
They had stories. Permanence. A greater meaning.

Today, we need to seek out this meaning. A grown up version of hide and seek.
Seeking out items that will be passed down, rather than thrown out. A watch, a bible, a wedding band. A hand sewn quilt or painting carefully curated.
Those that bare witness to the special – birthdays, Christmas dinners,, celebrations, hand in hand with the ordinary moments and an average Monday.
Varsity is marking your current chapters, with pieces that will be passed on.
Anything you use on the daily becomes an extension of you.
Love makes it an extension of you.
The heirlooms of tomorrow are created one ordinary day at a time.
